There have been a lot of changes over the past year. Changes that have isolated people. Suicide, depression, anger and anxiety are all up. Much of what has happened has resulted in causing Cognitive Dissonance around the globe. I think it's important to know what may be causing negative feelings. If we know the cause we can be better prepared to cope.

in this video we take a look at drugs. Why people are using drugs. We learn that drugs may not the real problem. The real problem may be what's causing the person to use the drugs. When people use drugs as an excuse for why someone is destroying their life. They're going in the wrong direction. That is an easy excuse. Instead of getting closer to the core of the problem they are getting further away. it's easy to say the reason someone is destroying their life and others lives is because they're using drugs it's the drugs. In this video we talk about the ego. We examine it, Question it, We define it. We all need to have an ego. It's part of our personal identity. However, most of the time we don't need our ego. We especially don't need our ego when it involves pain and suffering from the past into the present.
Because of this we need to learn to control our ego. We need to let go of our ego when it is hurting us. This takes awareness of our thoughts. We look at the thought and decide whether it's useful or whether it's hurting us. If it's not useful. We throw it away. Mindfulness can be easy to practice. It can also be very difficult. The Buddhists refer to it as the monkey mind. It means that your mind is racing all over the place. Some people would say. My mind was going 100 mph. I couldn't sleep last night because my mind was racing. So you get the idea. In this video, we will talk about mindfulness and how to practice it properly. Gratitude and expectations are an important part of our lives. How we handle them can mean the difference between being happy and possibly disappointed. Having gratitude raises self-esteem. It also raises self-worth. Expectations can lead to disappointment. Expectations always come from projecting into the future. After all, if I have an expectation. It hasn't happened yet. However, I can be grateful for many things. Too often we don't count our blessings. It is good to be grateful even for something as simple as being alive. It's good to keep our gratitude high and our expectations low.

When practicing awareness. Ideally, there is only a watcher. This is the person who is observing without judgment. Experiencing just the moment and ideally feeling presence at the same time. This is how we can practice putting our ego in the backseat. This is a path to joyfulness.

Spiritualism was working for humanity as a coping mechanism long before psychology was ever invented. In this video. We will be examining, questioning and considering three different paths. I say 3 because we will also take a look at mysticism. Previous to the advent of Freud's psychoanalysis people practiced spiritualism and mysticism for thousands of years to learn how to be happy, feel secure and solve problems. I can be said that psychology is rather sterile when compared to the other 2. It is a study of the mind and how it functions. Anxiety can be a painful emotion. A student can have test anxiety and because of that. Fail a test where they knew all the information. Because of the anxiety the student's amygdala becomes involved. When the amygdala is involved. The frontal lobe shuts down. Without the use of the frontal lobe. No information can be brought forward. In this video. In this video we take a look at being passively contemptuous. It's when we have no reason to really feel contempt toward another human being and yet we do it. Why do we do it? Do we do it to protect our ego? Do we do it to reinforce our ego? Do we do it to make ourselves feel better or superior in some way. I think either or all can be true. Being passively contemptuous has no positive outcome. To be contemptuous we must feel a certain amount of anger toward that person. Anger never helps anyone. this video looks at the difference between being scarred or being wounded. in some cases the analogy that someone is scarred is not actually correct. the person is wounded. they are still feeling the pain. when it's hard develops you can do anything to it. you can squeeze it slap it and it doesn't hurt. so to say that someone is scarred from a past event is inaccurate. so how do we get from being wounded to having a scar? realizing that it's over it's the best way. but sometimes wounds can be helpful. to remember why you stopped drinking or drugging or even committing crimes it is good to keep the wound fresh. remember what the consequences were. and not only think of the good times.

I'm sure that you're all familiar with see No evil hear no evil speak no evil. in a sense the three wise monkeys encourage self-censorship. self-centership can be a very important and rewarding tool to use. it can help us to avoid harmful things that we may see hear or speak. self-censorship is having an awareness of our thoughts. it is also what we choose to see most of the time. it may also be things that we are hearing. self-censorship is a great coping skill. it helps us to avoid negative behaviors or emotions. These days people throw the word around about being a narcissist a lot. Maybe there are a lot of narcissists. but I don't think they're the people that these other people are criticizing. We have to look how perhaps a whole generation of people have become narcissists because everyone cared about their self-esteem. These people were protected from loss. Always told they were special. They come out of high school or college totally unprepared for life. Totally unprepared for real life having to meet expectations. Having to compete. They sometimes fail because they're special.
They've always been told they were special. They believe that because they always got a trophy.

Bliss is the immune system of the spirit. In this video we examine Bliss. What is it? How can it be achieved? What stands in the way of our feeling Bliss sometimes. Working toward enlightenment or some super consciousness may not necessarily bring us happiness. In addition, the very act of pursuing happiness is it deterrent from achieving it. There is no need to follow a guru or religion or any other of a vast number of methods to become happy. The happiness lies within. That is the only place that it can really come from.
